Welcome Back

 
Welcome to the 2020-21 school year! I am honored to serve as the Media Specialist at Weldon STEM High School Career Academies where I co-advise Book Club, Hour of Code™️, and National Honor Society.
 
Last year, we faced unexpected challenges that we had never before encountered. We begin this year with many of the same challenges. I look forward to working with you to ensure that we provide students with equitable, quality instruction and resources no matter the circumstances.
 
The media center is the hub of the school and offers many services for the benefit of students, staff, and the community. Services include:

About Mrs. Pierce

Mrs. Pierce is a school library media specialist, beginning teacher mentor, and remote learning coach. She advises Book Club, Hour of Code™️, and National Honor Society. She works collaboratively to expose students to the fields of library science and STEM. Notable field trips include visits to Hunt Library at North Carolina State University, Wilson Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. 
       
Mrs. Pierce has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Library Science degree from East Carolina University. She is pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Her academic research interest includes school culture.
