Weldon City Schools Staff Hones in on Leadership and Professional Development

WELDON, NC 10 NOVEMBER 2022- On November 9th and 10th,  Weldon City Schools (WCS) staff and leadership team engaged in strategic planning and professional development. The district leadership team met on November 9th, and all staff undertook professional development on November 10th after the early release of students for the day. 


“I am pleased to see our staff and leadership team working so diligently to improve the outcomes for our students,” said Dr. Dannie Williams, Superintendent of Weldon City Schools. “The energy for positive growth in our staff and students is palpable,” he added. 


The professional development sessions took place at Weldon Middle School. Topics included social and emotional learning, literacy, targeted best practices in curriculum delivery, and effective teaching strategies. The leadership team, including principals, met at the middle school as well.


"After attending my first leadership meeting with some of the most inspiring people I know, I felt CHARGED,” offered Angela Lee-Easter, Principal of Weldon Elementary Global Academy.  “Charged to strive even harder to provide a successful and balanced education for each of my students,'' she continued. “This meeting was motivating, and with this type of support there is no doubt that Weldon Elementary Global Academy will finish strong this year," Ms. Lee-Easter proclaimed.
